Pioneering sustainability with EnviroPlan at ASCO 2024
Emota
• Differentiate itself among 400+ competitors. • Showcase expertise in data, technology, and innovation. • Demonstrate leadership in sustainability through an eco-friendly exhibit. • Facilitate meaningful interactions and drive business opportunities.
Emota implemented our EnviroPlan methodology, a sustainable exhibit design methodology, to create an engaging, conversation-driven booth. Key features included: • Sustainable materials – The booth was constructed from an industry first, innovative material - 100% recyclable structural cardboard, reducing environmental impact while maintaining a sleek, innovative design. • Eco-friendly logistics – The booth was flat-packed, significantly cutting transportation emissions and costs, drayage costs and reducing setup time from two days to just two hours. • Sustainable material choices – Water-based inks, reusable rubber flooring, and repurposed booth furniture minimised waste. • Energy efficiency – LED lighting and minimal power consumption ensured sustainability without compromising impact.
The initiative delivered exceptional environmental, financial, and business outcomes - • 70% reduction in CO2e emissions (from 2.4 tonnes to 0.7 tonnes) (when compared to an equivalent traditional build) • 71% of booth assets made from recycled materials • 30% total cost savings, including a 50% reduction in labour costs, an 80% reduction in drayage and a 51% reduction in freight costs • 500+ unique attendees, exceeding the 300-attendee target • 150+ Sales Qualified Leads from 200 client meetings • $2 million in wins, with an estimated ROI of $6.6 million
By integrating sustainability into every aspect of exhibit design, Emota set a new benchmark for sustainable event experiences, proving that sustainability can be a business driver, not just an ethical choice.
