Bray Leino Events
For Bray Leino Events, 2025 was about proving what better looks like. Rather than injecting sustainability language into event briefs, they used data to inform their decisions and confirm the best approach. At 71 people strong, the UK-based agency, part of MISSION Marketing Group, successfully built ESG into the mechanics of how the business works, led by a newly appointed, full-time sustainability manager.
What marked Bray Leino Events out was the shift from intent to decisive action. The agency introduced measures, from sustainability support sheets at project kick-off, to event sustainability management plans, and post-event impact reporting to achieve full embedment. ISO 20121 and ISO 14001 certification provided the formal backbone, but judges were especially persuaded by the practical detail, one calling the sustainability checklist "a tangible piece of evidence" of how standards are translated for employees, freelancers and suppliers alike.
Following the rollout of isla's TRACE platform, the agency established baseline impact measurements across 36 projects and began using that intelligence to influence future decisions. Its CYBERUK24 event was a turning point: for the first time, the team could pinpoint that flights accounted for 92% of transport emissions, while the mere 6% of meals containing red meat generated 54% of food emissions. Those findings shaped changes for the following year, including menu redesign, increased reuse of build materials and smarter travel choices. Together, this helped CYBERUK25, the biggest edition yet, achieve a 6.5% emissions reduction.
This same rigour runs through its supply chain and internal culture. Suppliers are expected to align with Bray Leino Events' environmental standards, with training offered where needed, while staff have completed isla Sustainability in Events training, Proseed modules and bespoke learning on waste, food, transport and production. Partnerships with specialists including Worlds Better and Event Cycle have further strengthened a model that is collaborative and constructive, rather than performative. As one judge put it, sustainability is "embedded in the corporate DNA" - and Bray Leino Events is demonstrating consistently what that looks like in agency practice.
