Enviroplan: Revolutionising Sustainable Exhibition Design

Emota

Emota is revolutionising exhibition design with EnviroPlan, significantly reducing environmental impact without limiting creativity, reducing quality or increasing costs.

Launched as a grassroots initiative within our exhibitions team, EnviroPlan was developed in response to the significant waste generated by traditional exhibition booths. Combining deep industry knowledge with a passion for sustainability, we designed EnviroPlan to not only match traditional alternatives but exceed them.

EnviroPlan transforms how exhibitions are designed and delivered. It’s a flexible, data-based, impact-driven methodology integrated into our standard working practices. It follows a zero-waste philosophy, prioritising material circularity and reusable components.

Where new booth infrastructure/components are required, EnviroPlan innovates there too –actively seeking out the most sustainable alternative materials, solutions and suppliers. In partnership with some key suppliers we have developed and prototyped the use of an innovative, fully recyclable structural cardboard. This is now being used extensively on our projects – whether for individual component parts such as furniture/individual interactive elements, or the entire construction of the stand. It’s rigid and study, but also lightweight and flatpack, fully printable and durable – so provides significant benefits in design, handling, transportation, re-use for multiple installations and simple construction.

EnviroPlan is fully flexible too – one size doesn’t fit all. We create the right solution every time – from a single-use booth made from cardboard to a 3-year programme of stands made from a toolkit of reusable component parts, stored centrally. EnviroPlan is proving its success. Clients overwhelmingly opt in once they see it delivers sustainability without compromising creativity, quality, or cost – with 80-90% of Emota’s exhibitions clients adopting EnviroPlan. It’s also winning multiple industry awards and setting a new standard for sustainable exhibition design.

The next step is expanding EnviroPlan into our Live Production and Logistics teams, formalising sustainability practices across all our service lines.
